Who we are
The Mustard Seed’s Mission: to engage, support and build relationships with people in our community.
Our quaint community hub is nestled in amongst high-rises and across the road from The Gabba Stadium in one of the fastest growing areas in Brisbane, Woolloongabba.
While we may be situated in the inner city, our staff, volunteers and program could not be more grass roots community. As soon as you enter our space, you immediately feel warmth and a sense of “home”, which is something our staff and volunteers strive to do. With a focus on people and relationships, our broad range of events, programs and clubs meet from our centre both during the week and on the weekend.
The Mustard Seed is a NFP initiative of Church@TheGabba and came about with the recognition that people nowadays don’t reach out to the church as a way of connecting to the community. The Mustard Seed is a place to build friendships, a place to hang out with locals and demonstrate our love for our community.
With Covid-19 restrictions easing, our capacity to run more events and programs grows. See the PROGRAM menu option for a list of our programs and follow the links to book your place. Some of these events are currently running, while some will be starting in the coming weeks.
Amongst many other things, Anna manages The Mustard Seed Community Hub. Before coming on board at Church at the Gabba, she spent 12 years teaching Visual Art. Her passion lies in getting people together, running, her furry pets and anything green-thumb related. Get in touch with Anna via email@example.com
The Mustard Seed relies on the dedication and talent of our wonderful volunteers to run our programs, offer support in the community and give of their time. This good looking bunch of folks here is just a sample of our volunteers and they form The Mustard Seed Committee. We really value creating a supportive and fun program that is relevant to our locals. That's why we have this group!
Here at The Mustard Seed and Church@TheGabba we take the safety and well-being of all our children and families very seriously.
All of our staff and volunteers involved with children and youth have a current "Blue Card" and have been screened in compliance with Child Safe requirements. Each person receives training and is a caring, compassionate and suitable person to be involved in ministry activities with children and youth, and we operate our activities under the strict Child Safe strategies and guidelines.
We also have CCTV in operation throughout our building.
